This is a beautiful and special wood made from genuine, and certified, wood imported from Israel from Olive trees.

For some this is almost a biblical artefact, to be able to hold and use an instrument made from real wood that has grown in the Holy Land.

For others it's simply a beautiful instrument made from one of the nicest, warmest and best grained wood I have ever worked with. 

Compared to an Italian Olive, which I also work a lot with, the grain is darker and more featured and my blanks, while not cheap as I import from Israel, are of very good quality and I always use the best grain I can see from my selection.
